You’ll then be redirected to Fountain, our applicant screening software, where you’ll complete the initial questionnaire to start the hiring process.
Upload your resume. No worries if you don’t have one. You can indicate that you don’t have a resume and you’ll be redirected to another section that asks basic questions about your professional background.
Hit submit and you’ve now finished the first part of the application! If your application is accepted, you’ll be contacted within 2-5 business days for a phone screening.
Phone screening
If your application is accepted, you’ll be invited to schedule a quick phone call.
This is NOT an interview. The purpose of this phone call is to get to know you better as we go over your submitted application.
If you’re approved to move forward, you’ll be contacted again to schedule a formal interview.
Before the interview
You’re required to answer questions about your Louisiana teaching certification before you’re ready to interview.
You can look up your teaching certification information on the Louisiana Department of Education website; Teach Louisiana.
If you hold more than two valid certifications, please let your Scoot consultant know during your interview.
After the interview Part 1:
Sign offer letter
Please note that the offer is conditional and is based on completing a background check, contacting references, and completing your mandatory training.
You’re officially hired, but in order to begin your work assignments, you’ll need to pass these onboarding steps required by the state and Scoot.
Official documents
After your stellar interview and going through the background check processes, your consultant will email you to complete the next steps of onboarding. You’ll be asked to upload/submit the following:
Three references including at least one supervisor
We contact these references via email, text and/or phone to review your previous work experience.
Payroll information
This is so you can start getting paid right away!
Scoot Profile Photo
A friendly and professional headshot is your profile's first impression for schools. This helps them recognize you and may lead to more frequent bookings.
Background Check Clearance

Our onboarding platform will guide you through the required documents, with common submissions including a U.S. passport, or a U.S. driver's license/ID card and a Social Security card. For details on acceptable i-9 documents, please refer to this website. After your documents are fully verified and your i-9 is complete, you can proceed with your application.
