Online application

  1. Fill out basic information such as your legal name, email, and phone number.

  2. You’ll then be redirected to Fountain where you’ll complete the initial questionnaire to start the hiring process.

  3. Upload your resume. No worries if you don’t have one. You can indicate that you don’t have a resume and you’ll be redirected to another section that asks basic questions about your professional background.

  4. Hit submit and you’ve now finished the first part of the application! If your application is accepted, you’ll be contacted within 2-5 business days for a phone screening.

Phone screening

If your application is accepted, you’ll be invited to schedule a quick phone call.

This is NOT an interview. The purpose of this phone call is to get to know you better as we go over your submitted application.

If you’re approved to move forward, you’ll be contacted again to schedule a formal interview.

Before the interview

You’re required to complete two Fountain prompts before you’re ready to interview.

  1. Answer questions about your CA teaching credential or permit.

    1. You can look up your credential/permit information on the CTC website under the 'Search' tab.

    2. We recommend performing a Secured Search using your DOB and SSN.

    3. If you hold more than two valid credentials or permits please let your Scoot consultant know during your interview.

  2. Upload your CBEST or basic skills information.

After the interview Part 1:

Sign offer letter

Please note that the offer is conditional and is based on completing a background check, TB clearance, contacting references, and completing your mandatory training.

You’re officially hired, but in order to begin your work assignments, you’ll need to pass onboarding steps required by the state and Scoot.

Official documents

If you had a stellar interview, your consultant will email you to complete the next steps of the hiring process.

You’ll be asked to upload/submit the following:

  1. Three references including at least one supervisor

    • We contact these references via email, text and/or phone to review your previous work experience.

  2. Payroll information

    • This is so you can start getting paid right away!

  3. Scoot Profile Photo

    • A friendly and professional headshot is your profile's first impression for schools. This helps them recognize you and may lead to more frequent bookings.

  4. Request for Live Scan form

    1. You’ll be given instructions on how to complete your live scan. This cost is covered by Scoot.

  5. Tuberculosis clearance

    1. Assessment or test dates must be in the last 60 days.

Complete your I-9

Form I-9, also known as the Employment Eligibility Verification form, is utilized by employers in the U.S. to verify the identity and employment eligibility of individuals they hire.

Our onboarding platform will guide you through the required documents, with common submissions including a U.S. passport, or a U.S. driver's license/ID card and a Social Security card. For details on acceptable i-9 documents, please refer to this website. After your documents are fully verified and your i-9 is complete, you can proceed with your application.

After the interview Part 2:

Final Review

After completing all required steps, your application will be reviewed by our compliance team, which usually takes 1-3 business days. We will contact you if any documents or information are missing. If your documents and references are in order, you will be fully activated and approved as a Scoot Education educator.
