PTO payout upon separation is determined by applicable state law. If state law requires the payout of accrued and unused PTO, TeachStart will comply with those requirements. Please see the state-specific guidelines below:
Arizona: Accrued and unused PTO is not paid out upon resignation or termination of employment.
California: Accrued and unused PTO is paid out upon resignation or termination of employment in accordance with California law.
Colorado: Accrued and unused PTO is paid out upon resignation or termination of employment in accordance with Colorado law.
Texas: Accrued and unused PTO is not paid out upon resignation or termination of employment.
Louisiana: Accrued and unused PTO is paid out upon resignation or termination of employment in accordance with applicable state law.
New Jersey: Accrued and unused PTO is not paid out upon resignation or termination of employment.
New York: Accrued and unused PTO is not paid out upon resignation or termination of employment.
Pennsylvania: Accrued and unused PTO is not paid out upon resignation or termination of employment.
Tennessee: Accrued and unused PTO is not paid out upon resignation or termination of employment.
Virginia: Accrued and unused PTO is not paid out upon resignation or termination of employment.
Nevada: Accrued and unused PTO is not paid out upon resignation or termination of employment.
