No. Unused accrued sick leave is not paid out when employment ends, even in states where sick leave accrual is required by law. Any remaining sick leave balance will not be included in the employee’s final paycheck.
However, if you are rehired by Scoot Education or TeachStart within one year of your separation date, any unused accrued sick leave may be reinstated, if required by applicable state law. Reinstatement eligibility and the amount restored, if any, will be determined in accordance with the sick leave laws of the state in which you work.
